USING INTERACTION DESIGN TO STRENGTHEN ENGAGEMENT & BRAND IDENTITY

Swipe is a leading digital solutions company, delivering innovative software for businesses across Africa. For the SwipeMax project, the goal was to design a credit-facilitating solution that allowed users to access buy now, pay later (BNPL) services in Nigeria.

While the core functionality was solid, the app lacked engagement and brand reinforcement, particularly in key areas where users needed reassurance and guidance:

Onboarding & Loading States

Users needed a frictionless entry into the app, especially when waiting for credit approvals.

Visual Feedback & Delight

Subtle motion cues were missing, making interactions feel static.

Email Communication

Engagement with email campaigns was low, requiring more dynamic and interactive elements to improve click-through rates.

To enhance usability and create emotional connections, I introduced motion and interaction design solutions that made the app more intuitive, enjoyable, and brand-aligned.

To ensure SwipeMax delivered an intuitive and engaging BNPL experience, I focused on three primary objectives:

  • Designed custom loaders and splash screens to make wait times feel seamless and reduce perceived friction.
  • Implemented microinteractions to provide instant feedback on user actions, improving usability.

Strengthening Brand Identity

  • Ensured motion elements were aligned with SwipeMax’s brand personality—modern, fluid, and trustworthy.
  • Used motion to create smooth transitions between app sections, reinforcing continuity.

Increasing Email Engagement Through Animation

  • Developed dynamic email campaign animations to improve user retention and interaction.
  • Designed interactive visuals to make emails more compelling and action-driven.
